Hijab brought me to Islam |
|
|
... I stared at that scarf
on her head and wondered why she was wearing that, or any Muslim woman for that
matter ... So I see this Muslim woman and got a sudden fascination with this scarf she was
wearing on her head. I went on the internet and started looking up info. on
Muslim women. I found out that the scarf was called Hijab. It was so interesting
to me. I read why women cover themselves up that way and grew more and more interested
in Hijab. I wanted to wear it so badly but knew it would be a stupid idea
because I was a Christian. So I looked around in the Bible to see if it told
women to cover their hair, and it ...

My Story: How I found Islam |
|

I wasn’t always a Muslim though.
Previously; I was a Protestant Christian for all of my life. My family
brought me up in the Pentecostal Church until I was an adult at which
time I moved to a fundamental Independent Baptist Church. As a faithful
Christian I was very involved at Church, giving lectures for the Adult
Sunday School and other duties. I was eventually elected as the Deacon

I am sure that you can think of many acquaintances who lack moral decency. They
have an anything goes attitude as long as it makes them feel good about
themselves or superior over others. Even self-help books promote this

In the Morning |
|
|
The newly risen red sun rode the horizon with purpose.
Gone was the night as well as a sleep. We awakened out of our beds with
excitement, for we were going to go hiking ...In nature, we return to ourselves again. Will He not makes us alive again. He sent the
rain to revive the fields and the forest. Does He not revive us here on earth?
Does He not revive us in the hereafter?

Muslims in America |
|
|
Often we bring you stories from new
converts. This time thought it maybe
interesting to bring you a perspective from African American women who embraced
Islam over twenty years ago, reflecting on their experience and how they see
changes with respect to Islam in America. One sister noted the visible increase of
Muslims over these years, how many family members and friends have also
embraced Islam, now, as she walks on the streets of Philadelphia, she meets
other Muslim sisters almost on every street block ...

"Adios" Misconceptions |
|
|
She lives in a suburban neighborhood for over 10 years. Often she is well greeted as she goes shopping in the local mall or supermarkets. At times she receives pleasant compliments about her Islamic headscarf ... This time, she noticed people were staring at them ... What was it that caused such a visible change
